Device Not Found / Not Detected
Try a different USB cable and port. Use the original cable that came with your device.
Close Ledger Live, disconnect your device, restart your computer, then try again.
Look for your Ledger device in Device Manager. If it shows with a warning, try updating drivers.
Connection Drops or Unstable
In Windows, go to Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers > USB Root Hub > Properties > Power Management, and uncheck "Allow computer to turn off this device".
USB 2.0 ports (usually black) often work better than USB 3.0 (blue) for Ledger devices.
Use a high-quality data cable, not just a charging cable. Test with multiple cables if possible.
Firmware Update Issues
For Ledger Nano X, make sure your device has at least 20% battery before updating firmware.
Firmware updates work best with the desktop app rather than the web version.
Once a firmware update starts, never disconnect your device until it's complete.
Browser Compatibility Issues
Ledger works best with Chrome, Firefox, or Brave. Safari and Edge may have issues.
Clear your browser cache and cookies, then restart the browser.
Temporarily disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers and security extensions.
Test in incognito/private browsing mode to rule out extension conflicts.
Ledger Live Application Errors
Make sure you're using the latest version of Ledger Live. Check for updates in the app.
In Ledger Live, go to Settings > Help > Clear cache to resolve many common issues.
As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall Ledger Live. Your accounts will remain safe.
General Troubleshooting Tips
Before troubleshooting, check status.ledger.com to see if there are any service outages.
Test your Ledger device on a different computer to isolate the problem.
Make sure your computer's operating system is up to date.
Some antivirus or firewall software may interfere with Ledger Live.
